Time Management...blah

I am a pretty organized person, but I will admit I have had some trouble adjusting to the college life. My biggest problem is that my classes are not scheduled like high school classes that are one after another. In college we have to remember what time the class starts and be there or be square! I have a hard time remembering what classes are on what day and what time they start/end. I have not been late to a class or forgotten one yet, but I know some friends that have.

When it comes to facebook getting in the way, it is only frontierville that slows me down. But once I cut down some trees and feed my animals, I usually get off facebook and continue with my homework. It is Youtube that gets in my way. I like to listen to music as I do my work, but Youtube distracts me into watching the video for the song and singing the words; then end up typing them.

Juggling work, family, friends, and school is really rough. I have a job at Best Buy, a loving boyfriend Coty Roberts, a wonderful family (in multiple places since my family doesn't know how to stay married,) and since I'm a social butterfly, I have tons of friends. All of these places/people want a lot of my time and I seem to not have the time to give them. For example: As a voice student I have to be at all the recitals because Dr. Hay has instructed us to do so. Most of the recitals are on Fridays and I work those nights; so, balancing those two things are going to be difficult.

I don't think it'll take me much longer to get used to college. I just have to work out a few kinks in my schedule and enforce some self control. After these things have been confronted I think I'll be more than ready to face the time I have remaining in my college life.

  1. Sounds like you're on your way to dealing with your time management issues. An idea you might want to consider: Treat your days like an 8-5 job. When you're not in class, spend the time doing homework, studying and practicing. Then you'll have more time in the evening for social butterflying, and that's when most of the non-college world tends to be free anyway.

And realize that, as you get deeper into music, you may lose the ability to listen to music and work at the same time. Le Sigh.

  2. I'm trying to break my habit of the whole music thing. But first I have to break myself from dairy and sodas first.

  3. I completely agree with you on the class times thing. It's so frustrating! Ans I am terrified that I am going to miss a class or something.
